Yeshua: Salvation

Yeshua is the essential person in the salvation plan given to us by God. Throughout the New Testament he reveals to the people of Israel the reasons for his ministry on earth. He states in Luke 5:32 ASV “I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance,” and John 3:16-18 ASV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him. He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.” The scriptures tell us that Yeshua himself was a gift from God that he may be the way in which the world would be saved from eternal damnation but rather enjoy an everlasting life with God.

Yeshua means salvation in Hebrew and his death is symbolic of an innocent lamb being sacrificed in order for God to forgive the people of their sins. His death made it possible for man to once again reside with God. John 14:6 ASV states “Jesus (Yeshua) saith unto him (Thomas), I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  Without Yeshua’s innocent blood, man could not be forgiven from their sins forever and without accepting Yeshua as one’s own personal Savior or Messiah, man cannot see everlasting life with God.

Frequently Asked Questions

1 -  Why do I have to believe in Yeshua to see God? Why can’t I just say “I am sorry for being a sinner?”

Repentance is the first step to changing one’s life into one that is more acceptable to God. Yeshua is the way by which believers can make this change. It is because of Yeshua’s death that our repentance is recognized in the eyes of God. Before the time of Yeshua, the priests of Israel sacrificed a lamb as a sin offering for the people. Yeshua is the eternal offering by which the people of God can be forgiven. 1 Peter 3:18 tells us, “Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;” and Galatians 2:16 states “yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ (Yeshua), even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”   Yeshua is the only way we can have our sins wiped clean, be forgiven by God, and live with him forever.

2 - How do I accept Yeshua as my Savior?

Prayer is the first step to changing one’s life and accepting Yeshua. You can pray this simple prayer. “Dear God, I am a sinner and I have sinned against thee. I am sorry. I believe you sent your beloved son Yeshua to die for me and save me from sin. Please help me accept Yeshua as my personal savior and turn my life into one that is pleasing to you. In Yeshua’s holy name I pray. Amen.
